In our previous blog post we discussed the all new Losi 5IVE-T 3.0 and some of our takes on the new design and features. We have a special collection on our site showing only replacement stock parts. We have also added a new section to our website all 5IVE-T 3.0 upgrade parts!
With the 5IVE-T 3.0. being a whole new truck with many departures from the previous models it was necessary to make this new collection. A number of upgrades we have in stock right now will fit the new truck; we will continue expanding that collection as we design, test, and develop all new parts from our class leading Taylor RC upgrades as well as some of our other favourite brands. Below are some of our top selling upgrades to improve the performance of your truck as well as add some personal style to set it apart from the rest.
Wheels and Tires
In our first post about the 3.0 5IVE-T we noted that the new tires are a departure from what the industry has known for 1/5 scale sized truck tires for nearly two decades. The Pro-Line Mirage TT are 8.54 inches in diameter; equalling about 217mm. The Kraken RC Trepador tires measure at 222mm in diameter making them a perfect scale fit. With a durable new compound and having been used on the VEKTA for years we know that these are durable and up to the task for 12S power. They really fill out those wheel arches nicely!
The next tire set that we have seen installed is our own Taylor RC Super Spike tires. While these are 195mm in diameter, the spikes are slightly smaller than the factory tires but the increased grip and performance on grass and loose dirt while being able to meet the demand of some of the most powerful brushless motor systems these are a great choice to consider as well.
These photos from one of our great customers also capped of the wheels with a set of our enclosed billet wheel nuts which are compatible with the new truck as a perfect fit.
Drivetrain and Suspension
Differential internals and cups are the same for the 3.0 and earlier generation of 5IVE making some upgrades like our Differential Casing/Cup compatible. The 3.0 has an aluminum center diff cup, but uses a molded plastic for the front and rear ready to be upgraded. The front differential gearbox and shock tower are carried over from the previous generation and is compatible. The 5IVE-T E 3.0 uses an all new designed rear gearbox transmission which is one of our top priorities to add to the catalog.
Spindles, hubs, and spindle carriers are also a carry-over part making our new bushing supported hubs, spindles, and carriers all compatible to be installed on the new truck.
